THE HERDMAN ASSOCIATION
The HERDMAN ASSOCIATION, its objectives and relationship with the HERDMAN BEQUEST
The HERDMAN ASSOCIATION trustees (see below) manage the Pavilion and the Herdman Recreation Field under licence from the Owner (Ewhurst Parish Council) which became the Trustee of The HERDMAN BEQUEST on the death of Arthur Widdrington HERDMAN in 1914.
Trustees: the committee of members appointed at the AGM to form the Executive Committee together with the Bequest Trustee-nominated representative to the Herdman Association.
Bequest Trustee: Ewhurst Parish Council as Trustee of the HERDMAN BEQUEST, registered with the Charity Commission under reference 305215.
The objectives of the Association are
(a) to support the Bequest Trustee in whatever way possible in the management and upkeep of the recreational facilities as an amenity and community hub;
(b) to promote use of the facilities, raise funds, receive grants and donations;
(c) to apply funds to carry out the work of the charity and
(d) to represent the interests of Ewhurst parishioners, donors, hirers and users and to organise volunteer efforts.
